Pick the short version that fits you. The rest of this page explains it all properly.

If you’re a teacher: the short version

  • What we ask for: your name, your school and your school email address.
  • What we do with it: give you your own place on the free course, so you can see what your students get, and email you updates and resources for schools. You can unsubscribe any time with the link in every email.
  • Your students’ accounts are their own. You don’t see their progress, and they don’t see yours.
  • We don’t sell your details, show you adverts, track you around the internet, or use analytics on this site.
  • You’re in charge: you can ask us to show you what we hold, fix it or delete it. Email team@oxbridgemasterclass.com.

If you’re a student: the short version

  • What we ask for: just your email address. That’s all the course needs.
  • What we do with it: send you links that log you in to your free course, remember which lessons you’ve done, and email you about the course.
  • Study tips: only if you tick the box. You can stop them any time with the link in every email.
  • We don’t sell your details, show you adverts, track you around the internet, or use analytics on this site.
  • Your school and your parents or guardians don’t see your account unless you share it.
  • You’re in charge: you can ask us to show you what we hold, fix it or delete it. Email team@oxbridgemasterclass.com.
  • Under 13? Please ask a parent or guardian to sign up with you.

If you’re a parent or guardian: the short version

  • How you got here: a student added you from their course dashboard, or you signed up yourself.
  • What we keep: your email address. If a student added you, we also keep a link to their account, so the place stays theirs to give and to take back.
  • What we send: if a student added you, one email with a link to log in, and nothing else. If you signed up yourself, one email to confirm your address, and study tips only if you ticked the box.
  • What you see: the course itself. You don’t see the student’s progress, and they don’t see yours.
  • Taking it back: the student can remove you any time. Or email team@oxbridgemasterclass.com, and we’ll delete your account and your address.

Who we are

Oxbridge Masterclass is a trading name of Jamoe Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 12132154, registered office 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Jamoe Ltd is the “controller” of your information and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, number ZB012234.

Jamie Miles, the director, looks after data protection. Email team@oxbridgemasterclass.com or jamie@oxbridgemasterclass.com.

The course runs on Jamoe Campus (login.oxbridgemasterclass.com), Jamoe’s own learning environment. It’s hosted alongside jamoe.org, but your Oxbridge Masterclass account isn’t used for anything on jamoe.org unless you sign up there separately.

What we collect, and why

Students

When you sign up: your email address, that you’re a student, and whether you ticked the study-tips box. When you first open the course, we add your address to our email system (MailerLite) with the time you signed up and your internet (IP) address, as a record that you really signed up. If you signed up before 24 October 2026, our email system may still hold the name you gave us then; ask us and we’ll delete it.

While you take the course: which lessons you’ve finished and when you enrolled.

When you log in: see “Logging in” below.

Why, and the legal basis:

  • To give you the free course you asked for, and email you about it (your login links and the course emails). Basis: contract, meaning it’s needed to give you the service you asked for. The course emails are part of the course: they help you write your statement and never try to sell you anything.
  • To send study tips, only if you ticked the box. Basis: your consent, which you can take back any time.
  • To keep your account safe. Basis: legitimate interests.

Nothing is decided about you automatically, and we don’t build profiles.

Logging in

There’s no password. You log in with a link we email you.

Emailed links and codes. Each email has a button and a six-digit code (the code is for opening the email on another device). A login link or code works once and lasts 15 minutes. The link in the email you get when you first sign up works once and lasts 24 hours. We store the links and codes only in a scrambled form (a “hash”) that can’t be turned back into the link.

While you’re logged in. Two WordPress cookies keep you logged in for up to 14 days, or until you press Log out. While that login lasts, WordPress keeps a note of it on our server, with your IP address and browser, and removes it when the login ends.

The log. Campus keeps a log of sign-ups, logins and the emails it sends you: when you signed up and which page of our website you used, when you logged in, and when we sent you a link. It holds your email address but no IP address. We keep it for 1 year to protect your account. Our team also gets an email about each new sign-up.

Basis: contract for logging you in; legitimate interests for the log, which helps stop accounts being taken over.

Teachers

What: your name, school and school email address, and when you confirmed.

Why: to confirm your email, give you a place on the course so you can see what your students get, and send you updates and resources for schools. Basis: consent for the emails (you can unsubscribe any time); contract for your course place.

Parents and guardians

How you got here: either a student added you from their course dashboard, so that you can take the course too and understand what their application involves, or you signed up yourself as a parent or guardian.

What we keep: your email address. If a student added you, we also keep a link to their account, so that the place is theirs to give and to take back. If you log in, we also keep your course progress, like any learner’s.

What we send: if a student added you, one email that names them by their email address and gives you a link to log in. It’s the only email we’ll send you. If you signed up yourself, you’ll get one email to confirm your address. We don’t add parents or guardians to our email system’s lists. The one exception: if you signed up yourself and ticked the study-tips box, you’ll get the study tips you asked for.

What you see: the course itself. You don’t see the student’s progress or anything they’ve done, and they don’t see yours.

Basis: legitimate interests for the invitation (the student asked us to include you), then contract once you use your place.

Taking it back: the student can remove you at any time, and if their account is deleted, the places they gave are deleted too. You can reply to the email or write to team@oxbridgemasterclass.com, and we’ll delete your account, your progress and your address. If your address already had its own account with us (for example as a student), removing the place doesn’t delete that account. An invitation link that’s never used stops working after 7 days and is deleted a day later.

Anyone who uses the contact form or emails us

What: your name, email address and message. Why: to reply. Basis: legitimate interests. The contact form sends your message to our team inbox by email. Campus doesn’t keep the message itself; its log notes your email address and the time you wrote, for 1 year.

Students who used the course on Thinkific

If you used the Personal Statement course on our old platform (Thinkific) since 2025, we moved your email address and enrolment to Campus in October 2026, so you can carry on. Some older records in our email system may still include the name you gave us then. Basis: legitimate interests (giving you continued access to a course you joined). Your old Thinkific account keeps working until the course closes there. Within 3 months of that, we’ll ask Thinkific to delete it.

When you visit

The website has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Like every website, our hosts record IP addresses and browser details to keep the site running and safe, and our security service sets one cookie, __cf_bm, for 30 minutes to tell people from bots.

On the course (login.oxbridgemasterclass.com), the only cookies are the two that keep you logged in, described under “Logging in”.

Course videos play through Bunny (bunny.net), which sets no cookies and remembers where you paused in your browser for up to 7 days. The short course tour plays through Bunny too.

None of these need your permission under UK law, because they’re needed for the site to work or to keep it and your account secure.

Until 8 November 2026, our old website on Squarespace still holds past contact-form messages and a mailing list. We’re keeping a copy of those records for now. Past sign-ups also passed through Typeform, Zapier and Google Sheets, and those records are being kept for now too. We’ll update this page when we delete them.

How long we keep things

  • Emailed links and codes: a login link or code lasts 15 minutes; the link in your first email after signing up 24 hours; confirmation links and parent-or-guardian invitations 7 days. Each works once and is deleted a day after it expires.
  • Login log: 1 year.
  • Your account and progress: until you ask us to delete it.
  • Teachers’ emails: until you unsubscribe.
  • A parent’s or guardian’s place: until the student removes it, the student’s account is deleted, or you ask us to remove it.
  • Messages to us: 2 years after the last one.

Your rights

Whatever your age, you can ask us to:

  • show you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it, including your whole account;
  • stop or limit using it, or object to how we use it;
  • send it to you in a common format;
  • and, where you gave consent (study tips, newsletters), withdraw it any time.

Email team@oxbridgemasterclass.com. It’s free, and we’ll reply within a month. A parent or guardian can ask on behalf of a child who’s too young to ask themselves; for older students, we’ll usually deal with the student directly, because it’s their information.

If you’re unhappy

Tell us first at team@oxbridgemasterclass.com and we’ll try to put it right. We’ll confirm we’ve got your complaint within 30 days and tell you what happens next. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.

Age

The course is for students preparing university applications, usually aged 15 to 18. You can sign up yourself if you’re 13 or over. If you’re under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up with you, using their email address. If we learn that a child under 13 has signed up alone, we’ll delete the account and let them know.

We’ve designed the site with younger users in mind: we ask only for what the course needs, nothing is shared or used for advertising, there’s no tracking, and the study-tips box starts unticked.

Changes

If we change how we use your information in a way that matters, we’ll update this page and email you if it affects you directly. The date at the top shows the latest version.
